Karma Index

Cyber Astro is honored to present 1 Year Future Karma Index for Mr. X Y Z

Introduction to Karma Index

Karma Index is an extremely important tool that can manage your future and your life. It depicts your astrological autograph from birth to the end of your life.

According to Vedic Astrology, your life in this world is the sum total of the effects of your Karma from all your past lives and the effects of your Karma in this life.

In any human lifetime, we experience the effects of two types of Karma--our Past Karma that we inherit from our previous lives and our Present Karma, one that we perform in this life by our own choice and will power. What we inherit from our previous lives is the net balance of good and bad deeds, which we call our destiny.

Our Karma in this life begins immediately after our birth, from the moment we utter our first cry and take the first breath. As human life is God’s highest creation, God in His infinite mercy has bestowed us with higher faculties, a will to shape our own future and destiny and moral sense to discriminate between good and evil. In making everyday choices, we shape and participate in creating our Present Karma. This Karma Index will help you in understanding this better and help you shape your Karma, as Vedic Astrology truly believes that human beings are unique creations of God as only human beings can shape their destiny through their will and effort.

The Karma Index that we are presenting you is the projected balance sheet of your life. Vedic Astrology has captured this balance sheet from your natal horoscope, based on the information we already have on file for you. As the permanent Chief Executive Officer of your life, we feel that you must have this most important Strategic Tool to manage your life. By analyzing your Karma Index, you can gauge the rise and fall of your aspects and change the negative trends of your horoscope. This accounting system is perfect as only God can make it, where every debit and credit entry is recorded, so every good deed in this world will negate negative trends from the past. We at Cyber Astro, after considerable research into ancient Vedic Astrology and with the help of information technology are presenting the rise and fall of different aspects of your life in the form of a projected balance sheet. It will change the way; you look at yourself, your life and the world around you.

In our corporate vision, this is our first humble effort to strip off astrology from all its alchemy and magical image to its proper place as any other modern liberal science and make astrology relevant for the new millennium.

"What a piece of work is a man!

How noble in reason!

How infinite in faculty!

In form and moving how express and admirable!

In action how like an angel!

In apprehension how like a God!"

" Hamlet" - Shakespeare

What is Karma Index?

Your Karma Index is the cumulative Net astrological effects of 7 different planets-- Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn--computed on the basis of your Natal Horoscope as per the birth details supplied by you.

We have calculated the net effect of each planet (Algebraic sum of its positive and negative effects) for each day. The algebraic sum of net effect of all the 7 different planets for any given day is your Karma Index for the day. These effects have been computed on the basis of ancient Vedic Astrological principles and are unique just for you. Your Karma Index chart that is reflected below, is the line-graph of the cumulative value of the daily Karma Index plotted on the vertical axis. The horizontal axis represents the time period.

What is the Cumulative Karma Index?

The cumulative Karma Index (the blue line in the chart) is the collective value of the daily Karma Indexe in the graph.

The starting day of this graph is Jan. 1, 1991 and the ending day is Dec. 31, 2000. The cumulative Karma Index for the first day represents the index for Jan. 1, 1991. The Karma Index for the second day is equal to algebraic sum of the index for Jan. 1, 1991 plus Jan. 2, 1991 so on. The cumulative Karma Index is like the running balance sheet of an individual’s life.

The graph also shows Moving Average (black line) for 182 days. The moving average is calculated as follows: the first day value is equal to the average value of first 182 days daily value of Karma Index. The second day moving average value is the average of 182 days daily value of karma Index counting from the second day and so on so forth.

The third graph in the backgroung (E.C.G. type graph in orange) represents the actual daily value of Karma Index for the day.

Cyber Astro believes that through Astrology, we should be able to identify the bullish and bearish periods of our life and know the turning points. Guided by these turning points, we can take full advantage of the bullish periods and take corrective action for the bearish periods.

Different aspects/indexes of our life

While the cumulative Karma Index gives a telescopic view of our life as a whole, we are also concerned with divergent factors that affect our life.

Different aspects in our life do not always follow the same pattern. At a time one may be earning a lot of money but they may not be in the best of health. This is just a small example of the ups and downs in different aspects of our life.

Ancient Vedic astrology allows us to compute how the planets affect different aspects of our lives at any given time based on our natal horoscope. We have thus identified 12 indexes that have a major influence in our lives.

The 12 Indexes are as follows: -

  • Soul Index
  • Wealth Index
  • Efforts Index
  • Happiness Index
  • Creativity Index
  • Disease Index
  • Spouse Index
  • Windfall Index
  • Destiny Index
  • Vocation Index
  • Desire Index
  • Detachment Index.

Yearly Table by Index

In this table, you can view yearly cumulative astrological points acquired by you for every index. It gives you a very clear overview of your past.

You can immediately identify by year, the rise and fall in different indices such as Wealth, Efforts, and Happiness, including the Karma Index. The advantage of looking at all the indexes in a table format is that you can compare different years. The normal way we usually we recollect the past is "that year was very good for me" or "that year was very painful".

The high and low values and negative values will immediately prompt you to a process of introspection and may give you a better insight – if a year was good, why was it so and if a year was bad, in spite of your efforts why was it such? Suddenly the past will become much clearer to you, and you will be fully equipped to handle your Karma Index to manage your future.

This graph denotes the total Karma Index accumulated by you in the corresponding years.
The higher the Karma Index value astrologically you are likely to fare better.

Soul Index

This gives the progress of astrological signature for the Soul. As such, this Index signifies the health of our inner and outer self and how we are building up our physical and mental potential. It represents the inner self (the Soul), and the outer self (the Body). It indicates the way we project ourselves--our behavior and attitude to the external world, as well as our physical attributes. It also signifies our life in general.

"Not wounded by weapons

Not burned by fire

Not dried by the wind

Not wetted by water

Such is the Atman *

Not dried, not wetted

Not burned, not wounded,

Innermost element

Everywhere, always

Being of beings

Changeless, eternal

For ever and ever."

*Atman = "Soul"

Wealth Index

This indicates the progress of astrological signature for our capacity to accumulate material wealth. It projects our earning capacity through our own efforts and represents how we are managing the surplus between our income and expenditure of material possessions to create a continuous flow of wealth. Since such wealth can be used for the prosperity of our entire family and society, this index will also signify the material prosperity of our entire family and our extended family.

"Like a river, money must keep flowing, otherwise

It begins to stagnate, to clog, to suffocate and

Strangle its very own life force. Circulation keeps it

Alive and vital."

Efforts Index

This represents our basic energy in life and gives the progress of astrological signature on how effectively we are utilizing our inherent courage and efforts. This signifies the impulse and intention that drive us, and monitors whether we are being able to bring forth our full potential into our Karma or not. Since our siblings and friends are meant to help us in our efforts, this index also signifies the astrological signature for the prosperity, and our relations with our siblings and friends. A logical extension of this is that this index reflects our capacity to project our will on the external world, our overall communication effectiveness.

"Inherent in every intention and desire is the mechanics for its fulfillment … intention and desire is the field of pure potentiality, have infinite organizing power. And when we introduce an intention in the fertile ground of pure potentiality, we put this infinite organizing power to work for us."

Happiness Index

This gives the astrological signature of our capacity to feel good, and our basic emotional nature determining our capacity for joy in this life. Thus, this index signifies our physical and emotional security level, and monitors our capacity for rest and relaxation as well as peace of mind. The logical extension is that the index should capture our accumulations of creature comforts like good house, conveyance and other luxury items of comfort. On an emotional level, this index will measure our comfort level with our mother, family, motherland, in general everything that constitutes domestic bliss for our life.

Creativity Index

This gives the astrological signature of our potential to create new things and new ideas. It monitors how creatively we are utilizing our knowledge, our karma, our desire and our efforts. It signifies our level of intelligence. Thus when we are young, this index will give the signature for our educational and academic achievements. This index is also one of love, specifically for children. The finest example of our desire and sensual pleasure is the birth of our progeny from our union of love. Thus, this index gives the astrological signature for the well being and prosperity of our children. This index also captures our feelings of love and romance for another person. It tracks infatuations and love affairs but not relationships of long-term commitment, which are represented by the Spouse Index.

Disease Index

This gives the astrological signature for disturbance of ease in our life. Disease actually means Disturbance of Ease ' for any aspect of life. If it is disturbance of ease for the physical body, a negative value of index will represent ' illness '. If it is disturbance of ease in vocation, the negative value of index will represent enmity, obstacles, litigation, and debts. It normally signifies oppositions, difficulties and obstacles in life. A positive value of index will represent that we are being able to carry out all our ' Karma ' without any obstacles, and even if there are obstacles we will be able to overcome them successfully.

Spouse Index

This gives the astrological signature of our relationships with our partners in life, and also signifies their well being. The most important partner in our life is our life partner and that is why we call this index the ' Spouse Index '. This will also indicate our successes and failures in our business negotiations, and in trading activities. It will also indicate relations with our business associates and partners. This index also captures astrological signatures for short journeys that we may undertake. A positive value of the index will mean successful short journeys and a negative value of the index will mean problems and difficulties in such journeys.

Windfall Index

This gives the astrological signature for sudden unexpected fortunes and misfortunes. Though windfall is usually associated with gain, we are using this term to signify both unexpected gains and losses. These events are not expected, strike suddenly and seem to be unavoidable. The positive index value signifies unexpected monetary gains like unexpected inheritance, or gains in gambling, speculation and lotteries. It also signifies unexpected new opportunities and contacts, which will be profitable. The negative index value signifies the reverse--calamities, accidents, and losses in speculation, gambling and even death. As mentioned already, these are the results of past Karmas and Destiny and, according to us, this is that one index which probably cannot be altered by our own efforts. The difference between the Disease index and this index is that the Disease index is not unexpected and sudden, but this one is. However, one can make contingency plans through one's efforts to minimize the impact.

"That serene one

Absorbed in the Atman

Masters his will,

He knows no disquiet

In heat or in cold

In pain or in pleasure

In honor, dishonor."

Destiny Index

This gives the astrological signature for our "Destiny". It represents our prime values, principles, and ideals as well as spiritual and ethical disposition. It signifies the honor, prestige, recognition and acceptance we will receive in this life. If this index is positive and going up during a particular period, it signifies that Destiny is favorable to us and whatever efforts we put in will produce favorable results. If this index is negative and going down, it means destiny is unfavorable and we will have to put additional and more creative energy to achieve success in our efforts. Like the Windfall Index, we feel that our efforts and Karma cannot alter this signature in this life. But we can accumulate positive values in our destiny index for our future lives. This index may also depict long foreign journeys.

Vocation Index

This gives the astrological signature of how we will progress in our Vocation, how we will perform our ordained duties and the effect of our actions upon the world. Thus, this index will depict our professional success and failure, and our social status, power and influence. In general this index will signify our relations with Government, our superiors and people in authority.

Desire Index

This gives the astrological signature of how our desires are being fulfilled. Thus, this index depicts actual material gain or income that we achieve through our efforts, creativity, and our vocations. A positive value and upward trend may indicate that our gain may be even higher than the efforts that we are actually putting. Similarly ,a negative value and downward trend may indicate that our gain will not be commensurate to our efforts.

Detachment Index

This gives the astrological signature of how our material and physical assets are getting detached from us. This index will depict our material outflow, expenditure or losses. Thus, a positive index will denote expenditures for profitable investments, or expenses for a noble cause like charity. In today 's global economy, a positive index can also mean successful and profitable foreign relations and ventures. A negative index will indicate investments turning sour and expenditures purely for gratification of our senses and physical desires.

A negative index may also mean settling in a country far off from one's motherland (In ancient times, this would have meant detachment from motherland).

Another interesting significance of the Detachment index is "secret pleasures" or fulfillment of one 's sex life. Thus, a positive index will signify sexual fulfillment and a negative index will mean lack or absence of sex life.

In the final analysis, and on a higher plane, a positive index will signify true detachment from this material world, and will indicate one has truly commenced in one 's journey to seek ultimate truth, Salvation, Zen, or whatever name we chose to describe the ultimate journey of man.

Are shed by the body:

Worn out bodies

Are shed by the dweller

Within the body

New bodies are donned

By the dweller, like garments."

Detailed explanation of the actual numerical value of the Karma Index

As already explained, the cumulative value is 0 before the start date, for example Jan. 1, 1991. So, if the cumulative value is 5000 on Dec. 31, 2000*, it means that you have cumulated 5000 astrological points in 10 years. You can then compare by year, how many points you have cumulated on your Karma Index and compare each year of the past with your actual performance.

It may very well happen that on Dec. 31, 1999 your cumulative value was 6000. This will mean that there was a great rise in your life between 1991 and 1999, and compared to 1999 you may have actually come down by Dec. 31, 2000 when the cumulative value is 5000. You may get a negative cumulative value during a particular period, or the cumulative value may have risen steadily during the whole period.

We cannot put a maximum or minimum limit to the cumulative index value, it will depend on an individual's natal horoscope. The theoretical maximum or positive value of one planet effect for a day will be +22.5. (Twenty two point five)

Similarly the theoretical minimum or negative value for one planet’s net effect for a day will be –22.5. (Twenty two point five)

Thus, the theoretical Maximum/minimum value of Karma Index for a day will be ±157.5 (One hundred fifty seven point five), if all the planets were giving their maximum or minimum value.

Thus, the theoretical maximum/minimum cumulative value for Karma Index for a year will be ± 57,645. (Fifty seven thousand six hundred forty five)

However, this is only a theoretical limit and is also not possible astronomically. Usually from our experience of more than 10,000 horoscopes that we have studied, we can give the following values.

  1. Extraordinarily successful and happy people may have net cumulative Karma Index greater or equal to one thousand per year.
  2. Average successful and happy people will have their net cumulative Karma Index between three hundred or more per year.

The relation between Karma Index and the different aspects index

There is no relation. The algebraic sum of all indexes is not equal to Karma Index. In fact, the cumulative values of different aspect indices will be different from the Karma Index. If it is equal or has any relation, it is purely coincidental and has no extra-significance.

Aspect Indices are computed as if with a microscopic lens and the Karma Index is computed as if with a telescopic lens.

However, the range of values that we have given above for extraordinary success and average success will still remain valid.

Are the graphs sacrosanct?

Our answer is NO. Yes, you can change the graphs or your future through your own efforts and your Karma in this life. This is the precise lesson in Vedic astrology. According to us, the graphs for Destiny Index and Windfall Index probably cannot be changed, because they are directly the results of Karma in your past lives.

Your own Karma and efforts in this life can change all the other Index graphs. In Vedic Astrology, we consider that there are three groups of people in this world.

  1. Most people in this world, by their own efforts and Karma, are capable of making some changes in their graph, at some period in their life, in this life itself. The Karma Index will be most beneficial for them.
  2. A smaller section of people in this world does not make any effort, and their life will follow only these graphs. We feel that these charts are not very useful for them.
  3. Still, a much smaller section of people in this world can, by their own conscious efforts, create complete new charts for themselves. Truly, they are the masters of their own destiny. These are people who bring about changes in this world. For them, these index graphs are redundant because they already know the answer.
